Each year, AE2S conducts the annual North Central Utility Rate Survey, a survey of water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste utility rates for cities and rural/regional water systems throughout the upper Midwest. The survey is conducted both as support for ongoing revenue adequacy, cost of service, and rate planning analyses underway by AE2S and as a planning resource for participating communities. Rate survey participants have indicated that the survey report is an invaluable tool for utility and finance managers to use when discussing rates with policy makers and constituents. This spring the rate survey was feature on on the cover of the spring edition of the Minnesota Section of the American Water Works Association MN Breeze Magazine.
AE2S also publishes The Source, a quarterly technical-based newsletter that features financial and utility rate issues and resources for utility managers, city finance managers, and auditors.
By providing these resources, we are able to better understand financial issues faced by utility enterprises and to offer valuable support to utilities throughout the region.
